LETTERS

My brief flirt with being a ‘working girl’ has been such an exciting rollercoaster, which I would quite happily repeat, again and again.

I stumbled across Bon Ton via a Google search. Eventually I made my way to the Bon Ton site and after a good nosy around I worked up the courage to call Jennifer. The first few times I just received voicemail, at first I thought, well that’s it, that’s a sign, and I can’t do it. But I persisted, and eventually I shakily told the voice on the other line that I was interested in ‘employment’ with her. After explaining my situation I was asked to send in a few photos, and then asked to come along and meet my potential new employer…or Pimp.

I was so incredibly nervous, the night before I didn’t sleep. I even cancelled once. After meeting Jennifer, seeing the premises and meeting some of the other girls,( who are not dilapidated, burnt out, or desperate, in fact quite the opposite, in control, empowered, sexy and intelligent women who any mother would be delighted for her son to bring home for dinner), I was sold.

Jennifer told me to go home and think it over, absolutely no pressure, but I had already decided. My first Client was the very next day, at 11am no less (which I found rather bewildering), but he was lovely, and fully aware that it was my first time as a working girl. At first I was timid, guilt ridden and nervous to the point of actually walking out on a client. But I persisted, (at absolutely no pressure from anyone, if I had wanted to walk away I was completely free to do so; my decision to stay came from within me.)

After and unbelievable short amount of time, I was relaxed in the room, in charge, in control, and had a feeling of sex appeal and confidence. I think I will always carry this feeling of confidence and empowerment within me now. I know this will be useful in all aspects of my life; I have learnt so much about myself through this experience.

I worked for about one month in total, and had many repeat clients. I never felt fearful once inside Bon Ton. My only fear surrounding the experience was being ‘outed’ to my friends and family. I feel no shame for the work that I did, but it is still and industry ‘in the shadows’, purely because of public opinion. Although, it would be extremely interesting to know how many people simple appear to have this opinion because it is what is expected of any respectable person. Every single one of my clients were respectable men, in high powered jobs, I have never met so many lawyers before!

During my time as a working girl I have gained a financially favorable position, new friends, all who I respect so much, and a self assuredness which I believe will hold me in great stead for all my future life endeavors.

Dear friend,

There are few reasons why you would read this page, you are either interested in whether to work for BonTon, to start work in this industry, or you are male and wondering what ladies have to say about working for BonTon. I will briefly give you my personal experience with BonTon and Jennifer.

I choose this agency for few reasons. First of all, this agency offered the most money. The ladies looked really beautiful (the sexy I wanna-be look), and the website, out of all in Wellington, portrayed BonTon as a reputable escort agency rather than a brothel. Also, being able to choose the hours to work suited my personal timetable as I was a full-time employee. In addition, on a personal note, I always had the curiosity towards the industry, but did not want to join the chain of sex workers. Once I met Jennifer, I found her to sincerely care about my personal well being, and whether I would be fit to start such work. With guidance, and support, I started the work, and in short time, four months, I have gained more than I could have ever expected.

First of all I have saved $10,000 that allowed me now to live my dream and go on a fantastic overseas trip. It has sexually liberated me, allowing me to be myself and learn about myself. Furthermore, with support of Jennifer, new found ‘female’ confidence also contributed to my success in a very male orientated industry in which I worked full time. Not to mention all the wonderful people that I have met, co-workers and clients.

Full respect to Jennifer and the way she runs the agency. Her careful choice of ladies allows you to meet some women that are in so many ways admirable, who now have my full respect and friendship, and their support and attitude contributed to my positive experience of this industry. The drug free, clean, and stylish environment, also the etiquette and code of demeanour that gentlemen have to obey make the work even more enjoyable and, most importantly, safe.
You take what you want out of this work. If you decide to join, I cannot recommend any other agency, nor would I ever want to work for any other. In this short journey, I have gained an honest friend, learned about myself, gained new life skills, and achieved my goal. You can say that I had a wonderful experience, and I cannot thank enough BonTon, all the wonderful gentleman that I met, and Jennifer for supporting me and keeping me safe. In this work, personal attitude I believe is the most important, and with focus, and a bit of light-heart, I am sure you will be able to achieve what you are working for as well.

Well, with this small letter I really hope that I was able to summarise for you the experience that I have had with BonTon, and if you start work here, I really hope you enjoy yourself as much as I enjoyed myself.

Having never worked in this industry, let alone another establishment, taking the plunge to call Jennifer at Bon Ton was a daunting experience. The reality was in fact a very comfortable, rewarding experience in more than one sense of the word.

Rewarding in not only a financial capacity but in the experiences, conversations and friendships you will encounter at Bon Ton. The premises are tastefully decorated, Jennifer puts you at ease immediately and the remuneration package is appealing.

For the majority of women and certainly in my case, this is not a suitable long term line of employment regardless of the quality of establishment and clientele. The life of a sex worker can be quite demanding and disruptive to your regular routine and lifestyle - particularly the secrecy involved. I am quite certain Bon Ton offers the least disruption. Bon Ton is incredibly discreet and private, you are free to work the hours you like and always have a choice. Bon Ton provides immaculate premises to work from and the highest earning capacity proportionate to the number of clients seen and hours worked in this industry in Wellington.

I'm a corporate girl, I don a suit and work alongside high powered business people by day yet have been able to manage a discreet alternative source of income by night.

The majority of clients are intellectuals and are generally intelligent and respectful making for a more enjoyable work experience if you are of a friendly, inquisitive nature. They want to be able to share a decent conversation with you and feel you are really listening - Bon Ton is never just about sex. I've enjoyed amazing, insightful conversations with people I may never have encountered in my regular life.

I'm not trying to romanticise an industry that is traditionally frowned upon and associated with drugs and low self-respect but rather trying to offer insight into the best the industry has to offer.

So if you are ready to take the plunge or curious enough just to enquire - let's face it, you are reading this now - then give Jen a call to discuss your options with no pressure or obligation. If you're going to work, work in the best place possible, with the best people and earn the most money while you can!

I was asked to write about my personal experience working at Bon Ton and to be honest; I really don't know where to start. My position at the time was that of a solo mother who was studying full time at university. I was working as an escort privately, advertising on the internet, when I met Jennifer who asked if I would like to work with her at Bon Ton.

My perception of agencies (having never worked at one) was that I would have to work two or three evenings a week, sitting around on 10 or 12 hour shifts and having men come and 'view' me to see if I was what they wanted for the next 1/2hr or hour. When Jennifer explained how Bon Ton worked, it only took me a couple of days to make my decision, which was to take the position she had offered.

I was able to study at university a couple of hours a day, work a couple of hours a day and still be home in time to make dinner for my child. I picked which days and which hours I wanted to work. If something came up, I could just let her know in the morning that I wasn't available that day - there was no pressure to come to work. In saying that, working is what you make of it. The more you are available, the more money you will make. For me personally, being on call and just coming in to work when I had a booking worked brilliantly, but it also meant to get the money I wanted, I was on call most days. For other people, perhaps working a 12hr shift in one go and getting it all over and done with in the one night may suit them better, Bon Ton just offers another option that's all.

I can't compare the different clientele Bon Ton has in relation to other places, but I can say that the men I met were well groomed, very pleasant to be around and treated me like a woman, not a prostitute. The rooms we used were as comfortable as any hotel room and I forgot I was working 90% of the time.

If you are looking at working in this industry, then you need to decide what would work for you. If you are looking at supplementing your income, then Bon Ton would probably be a good place for those 'extra hours' of work. If escorting is going to be your sole income, then working at Bon Ton alone may not be enough, it just doesn't have the high number of men that other places do. For me personally, I preferred the lower number of men, I got to know them on a more personal level and was able to relax and enjoy my time with them knowing I didn't have to quickly kick them out and get ready for the 'next one'.

The only reason I left, was because of a life change, not because of Bon Ton itself. If I was to go back working, I would only go back to Bon Ton depending on my situation.

To Whom It May Concern,

As a solo parent, on two occasions I sojourned into the sex industry as a way of supporting my family commitments.

Both times I ended my terms quickly (max 3 months) as I found the Modus Operandi of the proprietors unsuitable to my perceptions of professionalism and their level of appreciation of the service I was providing decidedly lacking; consequently I saw women, myself included, over-worked to the point of emotional collapse.

Now, as an older woman, I found myself unable to tolerate tawdry surroundings and disrespectful management. My experience working for Bon Ton has been the antithesis to all others. Bon Ton is not only run as a contract partnership between the women and the proprietor, the environment surpasses any in New Zealand to date. Women are appreciated for the quality of service we provide, this is reflected in the excellent level of remuneration we receive and also in the way management cares for our person.

Regards,

Milly

After coming to Bon Ton I don't think there is anywhere else I'd rather work. Here its discreet, classy, well paid - you see half the amount of clients you'd see in a parlour and double the pay.

We are all treated like ladies and respected by clients and boss.

Plus another bonus - you don't sit around waiting all day - its on call so you can go about your usual day.

I would highly recommend it to anyone considering working.
